a golden nugget...
a pearl of great price:
Those who suffer in our midst,
those who starve,
those who we execute,
those we cage like animals,
the children who are made orphans,
mothers who are made widows,
the bag ladies within our burgeoning cities,
those who are mutilated by our wars,
those who must live hand to mouth,
the malnourished belly-bloated fly infested innocent;
these are the Christs of modern society.
In truth, these have been the Christs
in all societies throughout history.
Bob Dylan's first enduring hit,
Blowin' In the Wind,
unimpeachably spoke to this Truth.
Zimmy has struggled with this Truth
throughout his living days.
I pray he lives long enough
to learn what history has struggled to teach.

These among us must suffer
so as to teach all others.
These must endure intolerable anguish
so the eyes of others may be opened;
the many must die so those who live
can be given the opportunity to simply learn.
To date, mankind has earned an F-!
We have failed.
Those among us who have and are suffering
are deserving of an A+++!
The mind of man is incredibly resistant
to that which produces wisdom.
Mankind goes through extraordinary contortions
to laud itself for its vain storehouse of knowledge,
but for all enduring purposes,
mankind is stupid;
mankind is the narcissistic fool;
mankind is a worshipper of naked emperors.

For Scrooge,
there was enough time to change.
It is unlikely we will be so fortunate.

Where have you been? I am not sure if you remember me or not, but I certainly remember you. It appears you have returned with another captivating and deeply fascinating work of art. I agree with most sentiments here and am truly floored by the way you expressed them. Your wording and your modern style (in this work) are a thing to behold.

BRAVO!

ahh. . .with incredible daring & accuracy, you scale each dilemna that humanity has, regretably, unleashed upon & unfolded onto itself. the wisdom wraught through suffering is formidable, all encompassing. if given our proper attention, we could embrace knowledge & acheive our growth. . . it's a weakening experience to know & be unable to act. . . it's destructive to act & be unable to grasp the true knowing. . . our humanity teeters, dangerously in the balance. . . your message is vital, inspiring & timely. bravo. peace. elle
