I travel a lot,
errant footfalls down the tracks of my tears
round and round and around an issue
back and forth between choices;
when it comes to life directions, I知 all over the place.

I like to talk,
digressing into tongue-tied cul de sacs
tripping over words
wallowing knee-deep in platitudes;
when it comes to conversation, I知 rambling.

I知 very sociable,
often in people痴 faces
treading on their toes
mixing with the wrong crowd;
when it comes to losing friends, I go the distance.

My dear spike,

Sounds very much like you are travel worn oh dear poet. Does older mean wiser?
Hmmm ... I believe there are things we never learn, (or unlearn, as it were)
Seems we are of one mind in certain situations, no? Spilling words when time
becomes precious; an over-zealous explanation when we "think" we've been caught;
hoof-in-mouth disease is an epidemic when our foundation has been shaken, (no
matter the reason). Mistakes are only tools. Regret is but an admition of the need
for a second try (chance). Sometimes we run in circles, covering no ground at all,
but still we exhaust our efforts. And we continue to move ...

And may I say, dear spike, you've always had only the best words for me, full of
inspiring thoughts and discerning, wise and knowledgeable advice. You never fail
me, my friend. So, thank you for your "travel sores". It has made you a very
skilled proficient.

Always, in poetry,

~ B
(pass the Merlot! We'll make this a GREAT day! lol)

Spike,

First of all this is a brilliant write! Even if I did not relate I think it is perfectly penned. But, the reason I loved this so much is because I have been in this place. Not exactly to the degree of your subject but I am sometimes too bold and too defensive for my own good. And I know all too well about "tongue-tied cul de sacs" . Like I said I am not (in my personal reflection) exactly where this subject is, but I have been close to the trail and have placed my foot in the trail's mud puddles to test the water.

It is an unfortunate place to find humanity. Some people are on this trail because they've been pushed, others are on it because it is their life choice. What is deeply unfortunate is when those that tread this trail cross places where the trails of others fork and decide to tread on those who cross peacefully.

A superb work as always.

Spike~
Your brilliant poetry is extraordinary.
You are such a skilled poet dearest
Spike and I learn so much from you.
I can so much relate to these lines:

I知 very sociable,
often in people痴 faces
treading on their toes
mixing with the wrong crowd;
when it comes to losing friends, I go the distance.

Brilliant work dear poet. Well done.
huge hugs your neighbour & fan,
dreamer
