Joined to celebrate...
The birth of a new,
As my baby could no longer wait.

A beautiful boy,
Happy and healthy...
All toes and fingers,
No need to worry...

We brought him home,
Settled him in...
Soon there after,
A nightmare was to begin...

Down to the doc,
For his first checkup...
But something was wrong,
They were calling for backup

Sending him for test,
Just to be sure...
I didn''t understand,
To be sure, what for?

While they took the blood,
I held him in my arms...
Fasting 4 hours,
They said it wouldn''t cause harm...

Shorty thereafter,
Over to the MRI...
Suddenly his body was convulsing,
A buldging in his eyes...

I yelled for the nurse,
It stopped in the meantime...
She assured he was okay...
And they took him to the MRI...

Maybe an hour later,
back he came unawake...
They said he was sleeping,
It was NORMAL for this state...

But he wasn''t responding,
I felt it in my gut...
And the nurse looked at me,
Like I was a nut...

The docs came,
In quite a dismay...
His sugar had dropped to 8,
A seizure they say...

Now 9 months old,
My baby is blind...
From the low sugar he had a seizure,
A result of fasting for the MRI...

At the time of the proceedure,
He was only 6 weeks old...
They should''ve taken precautions,
His story will be told...

I am so sorry that your son is blind. This is why I hate doctors, they say that something is all right when they really don't know what the heck they are doing, no matter how much "training" or how many years of school they've been in.

I like this. It's a great tribute for your baby.
