You think you own a mansion
They have found another fool
For an infernal expansion
Furthering the desires of the most cruel

Watch as the burning spreads
You wish you had not said
"Open up the Earth's core,
Let them taste the burning salt-shores."

It is your entire fault
Every soul's been bought
"But it cannot be my doing!"
You tremble ‘cause you know you're losing

Struggling to close the marble door
You have seen it done before
As another cataclysm passes
You see their fury is everlasting
Go fill the painted champagne glasses

The phantoms feeding from the ashen shores
You cried and realized
"If only I could have known that this was in store."

See you left me,
I'm not ending
See I'm saddened
For all the letters you're not sending

I went up into the sky
Left my humility behind
How it melted away my pride

See you found the article
The one where it was twenty years ago
Hard to hide the evidence, however partial
A handless gesture they wish to impose

Father told me not to leave his side
I felt I knew where the light did hide
Flames as tender kisses slowly burned me alive
I fell asleep, plummeting into the dusky brine

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
