[hometext] => I wrote this in a World Lit class. The character is supposed to be of a sort of Helen of Troy beauty, beauty leading to a disaster of sorts.
[bodytext] => Timeless Beauty, Standing Still, Blinding Smiles, Boundless Will, The wheat bows, The mountains crumble, Woodland creatures gather at your feet, You weep. People think you bring happiness, Joy, But where you go, death follows in a haze, Women cry, Children stand amazed, What have I done? You ask, fist raised to the sky, When no answer comes, you continue to cry, Although beauty is only supposed to be skin deep, Men herd to you Like a Shepard's sheep. You never asked for this, It's, Not, Your, Fault. Your beauty is a curse, you wish it would Stop. A small, sharp knife appears in the folds of your dress, You smile at a way out of this mess, A voice deep inside screams, No!... Pain, Hurt, Death. Blood drips... Hungry soil sucks it up... A stems bursts forth from the dirt, A flower born from all this hurt, The petals open unleashing a bright light. A rainbow of colors chase away the night, Beauty unleased, even in death, A rainbow formed, beginning with blood red.
