Comes slow
It’s an acquired taste
Will you savor it?

With all the strength
Emotions run dry
Overtaken in place
Greed and hate

Eclipse your thought
Feed it your fears
Sneak near it
Bathe in the tears

The tears left behind
From previous grievances
Of those lost loves
You hold so dear

So embrace this now
Let it seep in deep
You’ll recognize it every time
You taste defeat

Aren't greed and hate emotions too?
I think the second stanza confuses me a bit, but I like the overall read.

This dark embrace comes slow, that alone drew me deeply into this write. There is a haunted undertone to this that could almost feel like an icy winter morn. I meant that in a good way of course. I love this type of poetry because of the depth of feeling I get from reading it. Great word usage, very well written.

Well that wizard guy enjoyed it on his way to do more drive by comments. You'd think he was actually capable of commenting better being that he's well a bland poet, but that's besides the point.

I agree with Jecks the second stanza is a bit confusing and unfortunately it makes an enjoyable read a bit off center. But I do believe that I get your over all meaning and find a deep poetic wonder within your words. I just feel there was meant to be more and it did not quite impact me the way I would have thought. Still you show talent, ability, and a good sense for emotion. A good job overall but bordering something much more.

BRAVO!

SCM

WHAT I MEANT IN THE SECOND STANZA IS THAT EMOTIONS RUN DRY, AND ARE OVER TAKEN BY THE EMOTION OF GREED AND HATE, LIKE ALL THE GOOD EMOTIONS YOU FEEL BECOME OVERSHADOWED BY THE BAD ONES, BUT I AGREE IT IS A BIG HARD TO CATCH. MY FAULT.

blake,

I apologize for this childish banter, but I will humor SCM,

SCM, funny how you feel compelled to comment on my poetry under someone else poem... to date you haven't commented on one of my poems directly, a little curious, no?
