Of a woman who is desired
Men find me a nuisance
I have never been admired

I am NOT
Small and Graceful
I am NOT
Slender and Beauiful

I am far from anything a man could long for
I am ugly
My very presence is something men abhor
I am far from dainty

I have never been with anyone
Those who have are lucky
I will never know that happiness
All I can do is envy

I know I will always be alone
I know no man will ever love me
I feel it in my bones
For no part of me has any beauty

I know in my heart there is no hope
All i can do is weep
No one will ever share my life
My pain goes so deep

I shall go through this life
Never knowing the love of a man
I will never be a wife
No one has wanted me, and I believe no one ever can [comments] => 4 [counter] => 244 [topic] => 48 [informant] => muinanyere [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

This is a very emotional write. Expressing something I fear not many actually go through. Yet we should to understand humility. The truth is I doubt you are undesired by all men. There are many factors to one's individuality that may seem to repell affection.

As much as I despise the idea of coming off Freudian let me offer you a little advice. If you want to feel desired the first person who must desire you is yourself. Conceding the point of being (ugly, hopeless, and forever cursed with loneliness) is giving up. You got to be willing to fall down as many times as it takes and get right back up not expecting to fall, but also not fearing it.

Believe me I know this is not all that simple. I know how serious of a blow rejection is. I've been there. After all like many poets I am a hopeless romantic. But after falling many times and almost giving into similar thoughts that you express here I have again found someone who inspires me and makes me feel worthy of being desired. Though I doubt I would have ever found her if I had continued to harbor these ideas of my own self loathing. You have to defeat your own beast before asking someone to take part in your spirit. Otherwise you are attempting to make the unfair trade and bringing in a third party (your beast).

You say you are not slender, and not small. This is perfect because there are equally men repulsed by that as their are men repulsed by plus sizes. Don't let the media, Hollywood, and magazines fool you. Some men actually do prefer steak over ribs (if I may use that very off color metaphor). Ultimately however there is no getting past this....looks really do not matter. I don't mean this to sound cliche. But in the long run love is nothing without a connection. How good someone looks has nothing on how wonderful someone feels (in and mental and physical sense).

Do not lie down do not believe you are undesirable! Explore yourself until you find the many things that make you worthy and never let anyone in the world deny you of your own worth.

Remember all these silly jerks running around the world as if so Paris Fashion Expo Nuclear Missle went off are the same people who wind up 50 and no longer happy with their mates and are usually aimlessly seeking one with the qualities they ignored in their 20s and 30s.

Keep Writing and Rise Above!

i read this and it broke my heart cuz at one time i was saying those same things. i have been through so much emotional hell at the hands of the male population.. but the one thing i had to do b4 anyone could love me is learn to love myself.. and now i am happy and in love.. finding faith is hard but it can be done.. and once you find your faith your will find your self opening up in new ways. keep your head up.. trust me this is something i know very well.. just cuz your not small doesn't me your not desireable.. cuz men hide their true colors deep inside..

this was very well written...

I feel I must concur with SCM and BW. If you are ugly, then you are because
you believe you are. I do not mean that to sound harsh, sweets. Actually,
quite the opposite. When you look in the mirror, try not to dwell on the flaws,
(as hard as that is, I know). We ALL have them, regardless of what you may
feel. I'm so very sorry you must endure this, but the other two are right. You NEED
to find the charm you possess, (and you DO possess it, I assure you) and when
you find it, you will exude allure. (Trust me on this!) There is so much more to
the depth of a person than what is on the surface. And there are a LOT of men
who will notice this. There's a lot of men who actually PREFER what's inside to what's
outside. There has to be chemistry, yes, but a lot of that chemistry has to do with
a connection of hearts and souls-- not physical attraction.

The piece was actually very emotive. You have a talent and THAT is something
that is VERY attractive. Sell your positives and either learn to live with or alter what
you feel are your negatives. I have faith in you and know that you'll be so much
happier for it. Hope is something that comforts us when we need it the most. :)

Stay strong and keep writing ...

This write brings tears to my eyes. Beauty, TRUE BEAUTY, comes from a persons soul. Outward looks are just a shell. Not everyone is looking for the stereotypical model type person to be with. If that were the case, noone would ever find someone to be with. DO NOT put yourself down or tear yourself apart because you see yourself in a certain way. It does not mean that everyone in the world views you the same way. One mans discards is another mans treasures. I would not give up hope yet and say never. It is a very powerful word, but I have witnessed it being overthrown many times in my life. As I wipe my eyes, I hope you take to heart the comments posted here for you.
