Written for a friend who is about to lose her husband of more than 50 years [bodytext] => Cocoon

As you lie dying
You motion me to come near
As tears run down my face
You whisper in my ear

Do not cry my darling
My time comes very soon
Yet think not of me as dying
But a butterfly emerging from it's cocoon

This time God has granted me
As your husband and friend
You have and will always be
The love on which I depend

Do not think I leave you now
Oh no that cannot be
I'll be right beside you every day
That's where I want to be

And in those times you are afraid
Feeling alone with no place to go
Just listen to your heart
My voice you'll surely know

Yes soon I will shed this cocoon
No doubt you will grieve
Darling remember these words I speak
I'm in your heart never to leave

But I leave this body behind
Yes shed my cocoon of clay
To be born anew
Gods Son today

Cocoon

As you lie dying
You motion me to come near
As tears run down my face
You whisper in my ear

Do not cry my darling
My time comes very soon
Yet think not of me as dying
But a butterfly emerging from it's cocoon

This time God has granted me
As your husband and friend

My voice you'll surely know

Yes soon I will shed this cocoon
No doubt you will grieve
Darling remember these words I speak
I'm in your heart never to leave

But I leave this body behind
Yes shed my cocoon of clay
To be born anew
Gods Son today
