An old flame

Contributed by Vic on Friday, 5th September 2008 @ 01:15:08 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

T' was a few years ago when I met
This dusky and long haired Cutie
A meeting that I will never regret
Falling in love is indeed a thing of beauty

I complimented her wavy mane
Trust me it was from the heart
I often take a walk down memory lane
to think about her though we're apart

We sat one night, just she and I
To talk about life and love
We were under the purple sky
With the illuminating stars above

She had a spirit that wouldn't tire
She danced as much as she could
We were sometimes like cotton and fire
Whatever we did, we did real good

No sir, I didn't plan a seduction
It was as natural as a volcano
I totally loved the ecstatic eruption
What she felt about it? I don't know

She might have liked me more
If not for the times I cracked
Wish I Could feel the long hair she wore
and the thrill that she once packed

Think you should have titled 'The Flame Burns'.
I can see the fumes that leave your heart.
How wonderful it is to feel this.
Congrats for the write.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
