Stop knockin on the door

Contributed by shelby on Monday, 1st September 2008 @ 03:32:21 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

All settled in the lights are low,
curtain up nowhere tonight left to go.
Here we go once more
who is knockin on my door?

I begin to lose my cool,
out here there is the rule
no hookers need apply
get off my truck, least you fry.

Back to bed half asleep
another rap occurs
this is startin to ***** me off
I might need a can of mace.

I ignore the rappin
but Leshay decided she would not
bark bark bark the cat is now up
Gary is out of bed full charge.

Next day broad daylight
another city far away.
Her she comes strutting along
I barked at her go away!

Truck to truck I watched her go.
Truckers turning her away.
Waving their arms and saying it loud
damn it girl stop knockin on my door!

Wow Michelle. Well, you've given me an insight to a trucker's life
that I hadn't even considered before. And as much as I feel for you,
(I would be none too pleased if I were in your shoes), I feel a deep
ache for the woman. What kind of a soul would feel it necessary to
live this kind of sorted life? It's a sad existence, I'm afraid.

Good write. Really made me stop to ponder and be VERY thankful
for my own warm home and surroundings. Hope all is well. (And
thanks for the myspace message :D)

~ Breezy

It's a well framed and executed panorama, narrated beautifully with simple yet very effective words. I liked the way you have carved the whole scene in this poem.

Thank you for sharing my friend.

with love and respect,
FRANCO.
