Ho dear, Ho dear, where have you been,
me, alone and longing lay cold, soaked in tears
in a biting approaching winter night, dreaming
of your gentle hands over me that aroused till
the early light of dawn.

Ho dear, Ho dear, you a loyal marine
Waging irrelevant war beneath the blazing sun
over the desert land that wasn’t yours;
whilst your little angel excited to exhibit
her first fond step forward to daddy.

Ho dear Ho dear, dark clouds of
thy dubious return rumbling over thyself
. I couldn’t resist, but to rest my dismal head
over the gentle newfound shoulder, mellowing
nearness and warmness of him engulfing me.

Ho dear Ho dear this isn’t betrayal but survival
of me; loveless life is all this bitter bare war
has to offer thee.

I know the feeling.
I live and work in Iraq and was in the military for 24 years.
A beautifully painful piece.
Live well my friend, and keep it up!

Amazing! Your flow is superb. Your message is warm and heart felt. Your wording is unique and perfect. This is an amazing work of art. The sadness in this runs deep and hits the heart strings gently but often enough to break the tear ducts.

SUPERB!

Franco, your words are filled with a sadness inside of yearning.
You write with such a compassionate and understanding soul. And
it is both painful and beautiful to behold. Flawlessly emotive, my
friend. True to the end ~

You sweep emotion like dust on a tiled floor. And there is a certain
grace in that, few have ability either to achieve or recognize.

Great post!!
