that dangles kneecaps above the home.
Not a sprint of the arms
that could be seen through the invisible ceiling,
but a presidency; one
with Obama at the wheel
of the number 12 Toyota,
embodied by liberty.

Two with McCain
just a little in the lead;
in the 00 Mitsubishi,
encased in the strong
opinions of Christians.
They're wearing out
the wrists of this contortionist
by speeding through the strips
in circular wisps of tire tracks
marking where the blood laps until it drops down
to stain the coal carpets.

The blood cinders like the family
hot in discussion
over the heat-seat of executive office
and contorted feeble feet
do the same when they wobble
in a bobbling pit of furniture
and blister from the filibusters over abortion.

Only the Media's musical muse
keep these soles from singeing
too much before election day;
where America's nimble fingers
will seal the two-sided deal
of another lingering choice...

but no matter the roistering
after the grand spree
of the winner, the boisterous cries
of the losing side will still stay alive
and keep bleeding over
into America's porcelain grave. [comments] => 0 [counter] => 192 [topic] => 41 [informant] => skyhawk432 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => political )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
