You fought this war so long and see little progress. At times your heart deceives you and you think it's over, you've won; but reality is your honest friend and tells you the battle far from over. Second thoughts run through your head, suddenly insecurity dwells in your heart; every move you make affects the outcome. You've fought so long, so hard, and what you thought you had is slipping away like sand in an hour glass, time is running out. Things are not the same anymore the love you once shared are becoming memories and you try to grasp on the last bit of hope you both have. Then it hits you, the war is over, all the fighting and troubles you went through for none. You try to understand why she quit, why she walked away, why she took your heart and broke it into pieces? But then you think when you fight for love, eventually one gets tired, and must do the unthinkable, even if it causes pain. You now understand that it
would have never worked out, although you secretly wish it would. All you have are the memories and reality, the honest friend who you should have listened to, to avoid all this pain. So now you mourn but life shall go on, you are stronger now, you are wiser but most of all you are still standing and ready to take on life. You still miss her, but it will come to past and you will move forward, for there is nothing left to do, so be brave and have courage for love will come again without a war.

I liked it very much. One suggestion would be to not make your poem into a paragraph-like form.

writer!
