washing away the red as he lays face down on the cold concrete
This feeling of anguish settles in as he lifts his head to look at his surroundings
Nothing but darkness
Nothing but…
Silence
If you listen closely you can hear the noise
He’s screaming a million miles per hour inside his mind
Agony, despair, pain, sorrow….his tears begin to marry the rain
feathers almost turned to dust gathered around him
He feels so distant from the place where he once belonged
He remembers what it felt like to be loved by the light
Now he’s thrown himself into a dark pit
It was all worth it
Regret was not a feeling buried inside his chest
No pain was too great
A fall such as this one could not shatter him
the fire that turned his powerful wings to ashes
was all too weak to burn off the beautiful feelings he carried within him
he finds solace as the warm rain trickles down his skin.
and reflects on the day he lost his halo for a girl whom he loved
