Red Rose Story

Contributed by Jam555 on Monday, 11th August 2008 @ 09:02:09 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Sunday morning started vague -
'Yesterday might have been a mistake'
She packed her book about magic ring;
And thought what a day outside could bring

“I’ll bring my coat it could get cold”,-
Who knows how long she’ll have to walk
Till she can find the perfect spot
With no one there to strike a talk

She’s sitting there in her own world
The book could block her from own thought
She’s very happy yet she’s not
And reason here is her own heart

A weird feeling startled her
She felt like someone’s watching her
Yet book can influence her cautious thought
An enemy spy has just been caught

That feeling started growing strong
Could it be he’s watching her along?
She stopped and slowly looked around
Surprised by red rose on the ground…

“But when and how could he come close?
I was too caught up I suppose”
All of a sudden she heard his voice
She started crying, not by choice..

“I never want to let you go
I tried to see if we could grow
Apart and distant, without our love
But every night I think a lot
What life together could have brought
Into our life in this cruel world”

Her heart was breaking once again
Her Love - those feelings saying stay
Her mind, her brain has gone insane
Her cold cold heart is once to blame

His voice pushed her so far away
She went back to the sea and bay
First time she made her heart obey
When holding hands they lay there dreaming
Figuring out life’s deeper meaning

That was the day they had their kiss
When love was just a shallow mist
Now that it’s more like mountain rain
To let it go is so much pain

All of a sudden she cant remember
What were the reasons for the surrender
Surrender everything that made sense
All of a sudden she felt so tense
All of a sudden it all became clear
Now she remembers what was the deal

How could he ever betray her soul
He said it just how the dice can roll
Sometimes you’re not the one to control
Own body, own feelings, own passion, own role
In cruel intentions of some gorgeous girl

She rolled her eyes, she turned around
And he just knew without sound
His high pitched words could not astound
Her heart that just received a wound

He could scream, could reach, could cry
Just as pointless as reaching for the sky
For he knew she has decided
And no choice than to abide it
She was rarely to be misguided
By emotions or excitement

Just how could, how could he cheated
On a creature so calm and charming
Why he thought he might have needed
A night of passion blindly chanting

How could the passion be so deceiving
For his past years he started believing -
His life will be spent with this child of nature
Who could make it a life-long adventure
How! How! Could he fail this precious venture!

He reminisced the night he met her
And what a challenge it was to get her
How hard he worked to spark the interest
How much he worshiped her godly innocence!

But now it will be just a memory -
He’ll keep inside as sad sad melody
And even if becomes own enemy
This will remain his only felony

Last look she laid on that red rose
And thought “I guess that’s how it goes”

She turned her back and walked the alley
Which meant this was their love’s finale…

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
