Array ( [sid] => 144499 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Silence Inside [time] => 2008-08-11 07:43:09 [hometext] => I edited a previous poem of mine that I wrote three years ago to make the beginning more appealing. Anyways, enjoy [bodytext] => It was where we first met,
The sky was painted relatively blue.
As we both strayed from our houses,
The grass formed a green hue.

A sense of wonder took over us,
As we saw each other for the first time.
A second of gazing into your eyes,
Felt like I’d known you for a lifetime.

But Somehow it felt too good to be true,
To allow myself in your essence.
I gave it up, pushed you away,
Now I’m left with the dread of your absence.

So this is how it feels to be alone,
With a heart full of sorrow.
How will the sun shine,
Without you tomorrow.

I see your name in the clouds,
And your face in the pond.
When the sun sets ablaze,
My longing for you just dawned.

I long to be able to hold you again
To look into your mystical eyes.
My memory of you is like a withering rose,
I’ve tried my best but yet it continues to die.

Months later on a pale winter morning,
The pain has yet to die away.
The sky is blooming red,
My life bleeds another day.

How can I keep this pain inside,
As a silent ghost of misery.
Will the guilt ever wash away,
How can I ever say I’m sorry.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
