What use there is in masking tape?
Does it deserve its sacred place,
And should it be allowed to ape
Within a painter's box or case?
It seldom does its ordained task
To keep affixed to at risk walls
And often even fails to mask
And lets in paint to break the rules.
But then again could another
Form of tape or sticking plaster
Offer any better cover?
Could they block off paintwork faster?
So long as men need neat paint line
So long may masking tape be fine.
