Tsunami(Dream)

Herculean walls of water ascend,
Up from the lurid depths of sea,
To huge for us comprehend,
And as of yet, to far to see,

I stood on the hillside of basalt and fire,
To watch the setting sunlight wade,
Over the oceans blue attire,
And waited for the cannonade,

Eastward a continent shielded in mist,
Out to the west, the oceans wrath,
Balled in its multi-water fist,
Tore the plates of earth in half,

A merciless bounding of natures design
Exempt from any kind of choice,
There is no stopping its decline,
No quelling its tremendous voice.

A chasm like gaping replaces the ground
Engulfed in litres end on end,
And all that I can feel is sound,
The catastrophic seas descend,

I feel no hate towards this blue,
Below me sinks the towns of man,
This dream has given me a clue
Of earth before we all began….

WOW! Zenith this is one HELLUVA write! From the first line I was bolted to attention!
Your descriptions are near-perfect and as I read I began to feel the deathly power of
this catastrophic force of nature. You have some truly gripping lines here. I especially
liked ..

"And all that I can feel is sound"

To be able to feel sound .. now THAT is something. And I know exactly what you
mean. And I love how you put yourself in this dream, viewing from the edge of
destruction. A brilliant piece of work, (and I don't use that word often!)

Outstanding Master Poet!

I myself over the past few years have a fear of Tsunami. How terrifying to be looking at such an amazing wonder as the ocean in all it's beauty and suddenly in a moment it's wrath unfold making the highest points vulnerable and the lowest points seem more tiny.

Inside your poem however you point out something that I think is even more exceptional than the horror. The beauty of such a powerful display must be overwhelming. Much like looking at a tornado or a dangerous lightning storm. It is when nature seems to completely disregard or forget about it's destroyer (mankind) that it is at it's most beautiful. It is then that God's display shows us the contradiction of beauty and trembling. When man (and his audacity) is belittled in a moment, we know we are meerly a small portion of an amazing wonder which is earth, nature, the universe, the works of God.

The ending is spactacular and this work is absolutely oustanding!

SUPERB!
