[bodytext] => Like black and white stories of old or just tales that seem rumored to be true Hearing of great people going beyond just normal people when trust was still true We called them heroes the sparkled in our child’s eyes They spoke honestly without need of drink or flaunt drugs and appearances on rehab The type that were worth looking up we talked about them with out shame Some would write speaking knowledge some would do deeds that never made the news Just because they were true to themselves standing strong with a heart Growing up was hard in my time frame I never had one hero The sex the drugs the drugs and then death to themselves Watching as men with serpent tongues ruled the stage men of power hungry for cash When actors hide the discretions but we still saw it in there eyes You can not hide a life of abbesses with out showing threw your eyes Growing up laughing at others as they sucked up Hollywood’s sponge Sports stars fighting booze in the game blow up the nose Children as I was wondering what these people are doing to everyone else Now as I grow into the age of reflection I look back and see what was created Our hero’s are faded doing television commercials to keep the habit strong Washed up a loose term for the wrecks we remember Children now look up to other children going for Hollywood dreams or thinking of killing for insurance millions in every young heart Poker stars our hero’s today look at that man who lived in his parents’ basement Playing cards now he is a millionaire but what kind of man really is he Our hero’s I stand and applaude you drunks drug addicts and whores Selling yourselves and our children with it Flashing dreams and making children in to adults before twelve I wave to you all you fake plastic people I hope so long someone bring us a hero [comments] => 0 [counter] => 217 [topic] => 6 [informant] => lostrelic [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => AngryPoetry )
