Array ( [sid] => 143878 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Past Unburied [time] => 2008-07-13 12:37:40 [hometext] => I actually wrote this poem back in October of 2007, but figured I'd post it now. [bodytext] => The pain inside tears her apart

There's a faint sound of her breaking heart

The silent tears flow from her eyes

And another small part of her slowly dies

Once beaten down beyond repair

Nothing left for her to care

She now hangs her head low

For there is no more smile to show

But the past is the past, you must leave it behind

It's really out there, it's just hard to find

She now carries this fear within

If she lets it, it will surely win

Time goes by she's on the mend

Maybe it's really not the end

Good things come to those who wait

She found the one who could relate

Good times both would share

A finding like this was very rare

Her heart felt whole

The missing piece of her soul

But a dark shadow lurked behind

Issues of her past would unwind

She thought she had buried them deep inside

Only to find skin deep is where they reside

Trouble brews among the two

But he stays with her through and through

All the hurtful things she may do

He continues to show her his love is true

Why does she continue down this path

He's not the one who deserves this wrath

The feeling of guilt pours through her mind

How could she have been completely blind

The damage has already been done

Now the healing process has begun

To say the least his heart's been broken

So many words have gone unspoken

He's kept so many things all inside

Only because they were things she would have denied

She now sees clearly for the first time

It's not going to be easy, it's a steep climb

She's got a lot of wrongs to make right

But she promises it starts tonight

It's not going to be easy forgetting her past

But she has to if she wants what she has to last

For he is the man of her dreams

The man who makes her eyes gleam

He makes her smile whenever he is near

He is the only thing of her future that's clear. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 250 [topic] => 2 [informant] => lilblkcat [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
