One step closer to death each day
It cannot be stopped no matter what we say
One step is all it takes to reach burial at last
Freedom from all of the tribulations of the past

One step closer to be at the brink
Why has life brought me here do you think?
One step to float into the abyss
It seems so damn easy to do this

One step to see if those who ignored me as I cry
Will show any compassion as they watch me die
One step to end all of this and rest
Remember me as I was at my best

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One step is all it has taken
For those in my world to be shaken
One step from here to there
To know their world I will no longer share
One step from Heaven to Hell
Who still cares enough to tell?
One step at a time is how I arrived here
I took this final step without regret or fear
Hey Dead,
The flow was dead on. From my experience,
the last two lines are so true. Though there
is so much to life when you look for it.....Mike
I have to agree that this was well written. And you have put into word so well what so many of us have been through or are going through. Just remember my friend that you are not alone.
Good job...keep it up.
Rich
