Array ( [sid] => 143804 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Homeless Man [time] => 2008-07-10 09:34:43 [hometext] => When I visited Washington D.C. I saw a homeless man on the sidewalk. That is what inspired me to write this poem. I could really feel his pain. [bodytext] => Shoeless feet covered in oozing wounds
Body sunburned by the unforgiving sun
A man too weak to stand
Sits cross-legged on the burning sidewalk

No home to run to
No wife to embrace
No life; what seems like no meaning

In his hand an empty cup in need of spare change
Careless People hurry by
Avoiding any contact with such failure

After he achieves modicum of coins
He helplessly wanders the streets

Homeless the man pursues a savior
Someone to offer him safe haven
Nevertheless he has found no one...

So many people in the world are left to be that way. Its sad, and true. I hate when I see homeless people, yet some could do something, and others. No.! Very thought out write, and saddening.

This is very sad,
You did a wonderful job of showing the scene with your words.
Excellent write, friend.
