Speak freely
But don’t utter a word
The voice inside persistent
Taunting, urging
The silent scream

Soft whispers
From a long forgotten place
Begging sheepishly for release
Hush, child …
Now is not your time

Adolescent anger
Rages against the walls
Begging for release
Paralyzed, stunted
Padded cell encased

Prolific realization
Pathetic regurgitation
Jaded, sedated
Realistically hated
Fated revelations

Today is forgotten
Tomorrow just a dream
The past meets the present
Futures yet unseen
So now… it waits

The last verse...especially the line--->
"The past meets the present" really jumped out at me...it's where I am at present...
Loved this..

Shannon,
I felt this deeply hun. The pic went with the words so well. It stings a bit to read knowing the pain you are going through. Never fear I am always here for you.
I wish I could do more for you to take away the pain and hurt.

I always enjoy the depth of your writing.
You are smart, beautiful, talented and the list go fill a page.. Remember that and all those who love you!

love you sis

hugs
Michelle

Verry interesting piece, and I think your ending in particular gave it that extra 'something' that made me like this poem so much. Excellent job.

Oh

my

G O D !!!!

DAMN fine work here hun! I know exactly how this is and I know
just how you must have felt when writing it. There is a silent torture
dancing among the words that anyone would be a FOOL not to see.
I hope for release for you soon and I hope for a bright, beautiful
and WELL deserved future for you, too!! I love this piece. It's audacious
and brave. Like you, my dear friend. ^_^

love, hugs and peace,

~Breezy
(who LOVES the pic you put with it)

It reminds me of the story about the three blind men and the elephant. Each one feeling a diffrent part of the whole, each one forming his own impression based on what he feels/ experiences, none of them ever comprehending the whole.
We all have so many questions regarding life, some of which will never be answered because we'll never understand the whole picture.
All we can do is go through life having faith that things are working out as they should.
Sometimes it just ain't easy....

This poem reminds me of a favorite dessert. You get enjoyment seeing it as a whole. Then tasting it, the different textures and tastes create different pleasures in different ways.

It is a good poem, beautiful and tasteful in many ways.
