a wandering spirit
with a hole
in my soul,
melting in a burning confusion
slowly fading
without making a sound.

No one knows
that I am alive
everyone
just looks right through me
everytime I try to reach out
to someone to let them know
that I am not a ghost.

I've been in this daze
for so long
that I don't remember
how to feel
or
how to be real,
and I am afraid
I just don't belong.

Voices are whispering
as eerie sensations
once again start to flow
pulling me back
into the unknown,
I shout and scream
but nobody hears me
and no one sees me
I can only moan
as I am slowly fading.

I am A ghost
and
I wanna
be alive so I can feel. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 285 [topic] => 75 [informant] => unknown_utopia [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => anguished )

Well now, how do you know if we're all not ghost?
Really good writing. Aaaah, one more thing, You are certainly handsome for a ghost.
So now if you'rer a ghost you could just beam down here and sit and chat with me awhile. You know you're welcome any time.
smiles, huggs,
emy

I am really impressed with this. I absolutely ADORE the last stanza ..
especially the last line in particular. When does it happen? When do we
stop feeling? And how? It's like the world crashes down around you and then
suddenly you wake up and you are numb [dead]. A ghost desperately
seeking what those around you are experiencing ... damn. This is impossibly
provocative. And a relative piece to those who have lost the will ...

Perfectly descriptive frustration and pain. I feel ya ~

This is a compelling poem of sorrow and loneliness... of an altered reality.

I hate to mention my own works in a comment but this so brought back the feeling of my poem "Jello" . It really compelled me to feel with you this emotion of this "I am here but why not there... why not real" type of feeling.

I really felt this one.
