Ate desperately the pages
Hoarded in their towers
As food found
Searching for their ends
Concealed within their minds
In the damp dark dankness
Hidden ‘neath the palace stalls.

Ablaze in the steppe
Cut across in the fiery pace
Knighted stallion lace
Clashing foes together
In chainmail ring
Blood upon the wind.

Teeth grit and bite
Backwards in the night
One upon the other
Crumpled in the thunder.

A steppe fall mass for gift to thee
Upon dark angel wings
Fallen by the dozen
One upon another
Does not matter
For ‘tis now my brother
Fallen in my arms
Released of devil’s charms
Harms naught the ringing of the bloody pail
On hook of merchants cart
Off the far-wood trail.

“Brother, hold thy hand
For ‘tis dear
As god’s gift is slain
Sinks it now into the sand
Sure on angel’s wings
Silvery ‘neath the stars
Upon which last I gaze.”

“Listen, dearest brother…
Listen…
Do your hear?
Afor lost to a morrow
Listen soft the fair wood call
Pausing thee on the journey
For ‘tis filled with sorrow
When breaths last exhale
With winter’s song
Afore finding their tomorrow. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 148 [topic] => 21 [informant] => wheels [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )
