And see a comparatively swollen chap,
Ripe with layers of modest clothing --
Ambitious woven scarves that bring
An image of honeycombs to mind.
How can it be that you have coiffed? one find,
Drizzled around your neck on
A fairy path that does beckon --
A green and illustrious scarf of multi-tone,
Something bountiful to bemoan.

Some scarves are not purchased,
Never a beat my eyes missed.
These flaunt arbitrary oranges and red,
These are not like the green terraces coiling up your head,
But worn splayed and flat and long,
Where some frays have gone wrong --
And an amiable tangle here or there in your vellus
Where the threads are like flowers in a trellace.
The skin shown is very sparse,
And when I see it, I think farce!

Do I make quite an unseemly racket
When taking off my jacket?
This is a place where time has not been conjured,
And the cat long ago purred.
Your blanched face is perched above the patchy coat,
And on it I will not dote.
The eyes warn beneath the brow in furrow:
In a periscope you did coil and burrow,
Where a few insistent light rays
Splurge on their praise.

And I divest of my socks,
Find them laid idly at my hocks
Without the kinetics I had hoped to muster
And with a settling of the dust by the duster,
Only to take off my innermost shirt
And let you see my friend-reproached growth spurt.
A bout of jealousy that I’m getting tall
Of a size, a target, an object to maul!
A dispirited folk in their days of partition
In the voluptuous garments, without contrition.

That I should be want of shed my shell! --
And see you so enrobed and swell.
You, without a hint of strobilation in glee,
Of finding your callow misery.
To peel the scarves and unfurl,
And locate you, a dapper girl
Militantly shrouded and capped,
Somehow leaving me mesmerized, rapt.
But right now, I divest of my cap
And see a comparatively swollen chap. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 233 [topic] => 43 [informant] => screwge [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )
