But out with you, Quality --
I have exacerbated
Your appearances, your everything pretty

What more could I ask for, Quantity?
Such troops have left me outnumbered --
You have loved unconditionally,
Yet somehow, I am unencumbered!

Insistently
You have layered hope after hope
Like a consistent philo dough,
And negated each mope and mope --

The thickness that is Quality,
O burdensome syrup!
And when I’m running out of time,
You kick each stirrup.

I cannot trust in Quality --
That I will ever turn out something great.
To pass some cargo on these days,
It must only abide the weight.

Banish content, craftsmanship,
Banish misers so censorial.
I no longer waste on intricate trees,
Seeing prairies vast and un-arboreal.

You, Quality, are an old friend turned foe,
And we were, yes, once congenial,
But you sought those eponymous assets in me --
Love and attention in every task menial.

Quantity, on the other hand,
Has bestowed me with copious years,
Years to brew plans with headline appeal,
And raise up companions of knee-high fears.

So, Quality, scram,
And take with you your airs of the judge.
Quantity has made a supreme offer --
Countless days to confront this grudge.
