Just For One Night

Contributed by DesolantDreamer on Wednesday, 11th June 2008 @ 07:40:04 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Don't tell me the truth
Just hold me in your arms
If only for tonight
Let me be yours
It was over from the start
And I knew it wouldn't last
But give me just one night
Be mine for a moment
You'll never change
Old habits are hard to break
And I know you're meant to be
A ladies man until the end
But, please, don't leave right now
Let me live in a dream
Just for now, for one night
Hold on to me, tell me sweet nothings
Touch me with gentle fingertips
And kiss me with your toxic lips
I want to feel like the only one you see
Even though it's all a lie
Make me feel like the one
Just for tonight
And in the morning when you're gone
I'll let the tears roll forward
Cry out your name and lay where you laid
But until morning, I'm yours, you're mine
And I'll feel no regrets
So let me live in the lies
Just for one night

I felt your hurt in this write. It is hard to hold onto someone letting go I know.
I hope your heart heals. This poem screamed with hurt, nicely written though I am sorry for the pain.
