[bodytext] => Gliding on the tumultuous breeze, We are birds of show and sleaze, And I want the ground that is mean and terse And a landing not to rehearse -- My shadow, a more truthful effigy, On the equitable ground below me; For, I have seen even in a matte autumn leaf My vagrant face -- in disbelief. When we have landed on the earth firm, On life’s shallow epiderm, Pray tell, you’ve not taken up in a nest Of perspiration and dishonest. Through the thicket of spiky twigs, A thicket like deceitful wigs, There lies your stiff panache Feathers to change shape in rehash And rehash of lies, Feathers heralding swarms of flies -- And hope you’ve not settled for a scant “x” Under foreign eggs, with their foreign flecks -- And specious, rounded points of eggs Stolen from other brooding dregs. And I would rather stay and fly If inert feet do not decry The stories laid out with a tweak, Gaping from Agenda's beak. So wherever we have landed, Let it be candid.
