Joe Bear’s Letter To His Son

Contributed by tifrob on Saturday, 7th June 2008 @ 12:50:43 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

My Dearest Boy,

Always know ~ I’m here with you,
And yes ~ Dear boy ~ I miss you too,
I come at night to watch you sleep,
Because ~ You are mine for keeps,
I didn’t leave you ~ I’m still here,
Yet, I can’t wipe away your tears,
I can listen to all you say,
Yet, I can’t take you out to play,
I can whisper ~ When life gets rough,
Yet, I can’t be here ~ To make you tough,
I can watch you ~ Grow into a man,
Yet, I can’t make you understand,
So baby boy ~ Just always know,
That I will never ~ Let you go,
I’m in your mind ~ I’m in your heart,
So listen softly ~ I’ll do my part,
When a tug pulls at your sleeve,
Know I’m saying ~ “It’s time to leave,”
Always know ~ You are my Pride & Joy,
And I Thank God ~ For you ~ My boy,
I had a good life ~ I loved all that I had,
Above Everything Else ~ “I Loved Being Your Dad.”

I Love You Son,
Daddy
