What does this shell contain inside?
A wasted life, a misery,
A memory of hidden strife.

A soul so lost, out of control
and it all happened the day she was told,
The day she was told that never again would things be the same..
And as she was now, was how she was going to remain.

You see the sadness in her eyes,
But never have or will you see her cry,
She's had a difficult life and of that she will not lie..
But not one single tear will fall from her eye
As to her it is a weakness to cry.

Her eyes once sparkled with glee as she was free,
but no longer did they shine in that way
Shadowed, dark and lonely
Was how they were to stay.

No one need ask her how she feels,
As in her eyes the answer to all these questions were revealed
Her eyes showed she was no longer happy
And that she no longer wished to stay.

This young women had once had it all,
Her family, her friends and one to love.
Yet looking at her now, you would not know,
For in her eyes it no longer does show.

People stop and stare, but they dont really care.
They dont wish to know of whom she was before
The life and person she was before has gone
Behind a hidden door, spoke about no more.

Often she thinks of how things were,
The way she used to live,
But thats all she can do..
For never again will it be the same... [comments] => 4 [counter] => 218 [topic] => 32 [informant] => stardust [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

I don't really know what to say...
I want to say: 'Great poem, such sadness'
But that would do you no justice.
So words or not, know that I loved this poem.

Keep up the good work!

If only we could turn back the clock and set things right again, life would be so easy
Unfortunately, life can be cruel in so many unexpected ways
Good write

Steve

I am also kind of lost. The poem is written well but the heartache I feel very sorry for.

I am not sure of the nature of the illness but I also have had some health issues that has really put a stop to my normal way of doing things as well, so to a point I do relate to this young lady.........

I also felt the power in your soul in this write, that is what keeps us going!

Hugs

Michelle

Wow!! I am at a loss for words! This is such a sad situation. Life sucks at times.... and the people in it often make it worse.... I feel the pain in this write. Well written though....
