Simmering and flaming at times,
Exposed to the volatile fuel of memory.
I hold in me a residue that is as permanent as the gravity that holds me to this ground.
I feel the warmth of your embrace as if it was seconds past.
The passion of our intimacy as if you just drifted to your dreams in my arms.
I feel the power of your gaze emblazoned upon my heart.
The memory of you is what flows through my veins,
It’s my life blood and ironically my demise.
This residue of you is a tribute to what we knew and what my mind, soul and heart refuse to forget.
When the Reaper swings and takes my soul –
My last escaping breath, my final thought and emotion will be your name exclaimed with every fiber of my being.
Exclaimed before I fall a soulless shell to the earth we began this bond on so long ago.

Funny... there was only one reason I came to this poem.. the title is similar to a line out of one of my favourites books, New Moon, (It will be as if I never existed) out of coincidence, and it drew my curiosity.

And I'm glad to say, that while I came to this poem for quite selfish reasons, I'm happy that I did, because you're good. The poem is good.

And it does, oddly, remind me of the book too. (That's a compliment,
btw)

Good write, I like it's originality, and the feeling behind the words.

*hugs*
