Stress
The ever-present tug-of-war,
when you just keep getting more.
The feeling you're being dragged along,
when you can't even stop to sing a song.
The utmost frustration,
when you can't help but look for the nearest train station.
The longing for a break,
when everything is at stake.
The lack of fun,
when you have a cloud in front of your sun.

simple language and style but very effective - proof that poetry doesn't have to be planned! i can relate to the feeling too, the image of stress as a cloud in front of the sun is very powerful - just be glad that like all clouds, it moves on eventually. great write, read some of my stuff if you like, Kate x |
