I find myself regretting everything before I close my eyes
The willingness to change; the fight to stay the same
The effort that I gave when I knew it'd only lead to pain
Yet even in dark hours when the sun has laid to rest
And starlight cradles me in comfort like the heart beat in your chest
I wonder if it mattered; if you ever cared at all
That's when my dreams are ripped in two and I begin to fall
Reality takes hold of me tighter than your words of peace
Until all that seems to linger on is what I don't want to be
Tears flowing like a river, falling deep into despair
My breathing turns to shaking when I realize you're not there
And all I ever wanted was for you to know just how I feel
But you never cared for heartache, so my wishes were concealed
And in my journey through the past, I wonder what went wrong
I see that nothing was just how it felt; you played me all along
Even in my misconceptions, I couldn't see what was tucked in store
I fell for you so hard, but it doesn't matter anymore
You turned to walk away and I tried to get my say
But nothing that I told you could make you walk another way
Still sometimes, when it's late at night, and I can't get to sleep
I wonder what it was that abrubtly stole your love from me [comments] => 4 [counter] => 208 [topic] => 22 [informant] => satanssecret1369 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

It is nice to have the shadows of night to get all of the feelings out and onto paper isn't it? This is a very well written poem. Nicely done.
