Glass Serenade

Contributed by ingeniusidiot on Wednesday, 28th May 2008 @ 05:04:01 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Hanging straight four feet tall
Casting shadows it does not
One side showing what the other sees
But once the light fades all images shall be forgot

Another dimension created, a distant parallel
Alternate personalities form a demonic choir
As peering orbs have witnessed each time this burdened soul has stumbled and fell
And the foretelling of the future has already been foretold

A door into a maze, a realm unknown hangs upon yonder wall
As what remains of a former self lies upon a rusty cot
And darkening clouds give way to turbulent and stormy seas
As Hell and Purgatory merge for one final onslaught

Looking through the bars of this prison’s cell
These eyes trying to see the truth through a web of suffocating lies
As an unfaltering pen rises from a crimson inkwell
While prisms paint their colors upon blackened walls…

…a glass serenade

This poem was brillinatly written and I think you did well to express this darkness that is eating at your words. I get the sense of emotional and dark imprisionment that you seem to not be able to get through...

Well done
Take care
Christina

Rich,

I do not know how I missed this one. Excellent job. The last stanza is my favorite.
