who lived out in the desert in a blistering cactus patch.
Living on a ranch with animals all around
sage brush, cactus and wild animals could be found.

Now the rain rarely fell on that desert floor,
but when the thunder rolled she was ready for a show.
Rain drops falling down, off she would go
streaking across her yard with barely a stitch of clothes.

Who would see maybe the horses or the goats.
Rain is rain and it is much to hot with to many clothes.
Not much traffic on that dusty dirt road
the tree's would sing with the wind as the rain on skin teased.

Now someone asked the other day
where oh where did she go?
She is a city girl now
and when it rains she must wear her clothes!

Her legend still lives on.......... [comments] => 5 [counter] => 186 [topic] => 54 [informant] => shelby [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => happypoetry )

Nice write....I like the atmosphere it created. It would be great to have some of that rain my way....in Australia....we're going through a drought.....It's winter here at the moment, but would be great to see some decent rain : )
