Final Journey

Final Journey

I know the time. I know the place.
When my final expression will show on my face.
I was told the bridge was very high.
That is why I chose it for my final Good-Bye.
My heart beat races and my breathing stops.
As the car seems to fly then quickly drops.
I am feeling terror and I am feeling fear.
Yet to my eyes comes not one tear.
The cold water rushes into the car.
I hear voices calling from afar.
I feel Deaths grip taking hold.
Then I hear him speak in a voice that is deep and bold.
Welcome to Hell. We have reserved you a place.
First your maker you must face.
I feel my body separate from my soul.
My body is hollow like an empty hole.
We fly straight up through the sky.
There is no time to ask how and why.
In the blink of an eye we are at the Gate.
I enter alone to confirm my fate.
The Master informs me there is no hope. It is too late.
I should go with the Dark Angel. There is no reason to wait.
Quickly I am escorted back out the Gate.
The Dark One is pleased. His face is aglow.
He says hurry now. It is time to go.
He lays a hand on my shoulder.
I say, I thought I would be much bolder.
Before I could finish we arrive in Hell.
He says, you will like it here. I say, It is too soon to tell.
A little while later there is dancing in the street.
I go out to see and I am swept off of my feet.
I am placed in a special chair.
In the middle of town square.
The Devil speaks to the crowd.
Today I am very proud.
Today I brought home, someone who felt completely alone.
I have worked on him for years.
On earth for him they cry no tears.
From each of us we welcome and embrace both your mind and your soul.
Today the cycle of life is made whole.

Interesting write...I was expecting the devil to torture you or rip your heart out or something towards the end of the poem, but it had an interesting finish to it....Nice write....
