[hometext] => Wrote this for a friend after his wife gave birth to a baby girl. I tried transposing his feelings into poetry here. cheers
[bodytext] => I was breathless with anticipation, waiting for my child to arrive I peep through the window to watch my wife gently lay Wiping the perspiration I say “Lord, I want them both alive” And I hear a good soul saying “it’s okay” Restlessly walking, feeling so alone in the world Minutes seem to pass as slowly as years I hear people talking, could it be a boy or a girl? But the sound of my baby took away all the fears I was so scared I could die I almost broke down but I couldn’t cry I’m not a holy boy but I believe in You Lord, I’m just an ordinary man I work so hard to keep us satisfied I’m trying to do the best I can. You sent down a blessing, You gave me my life She’s the source of happiness to me and my wife. She’s a miracle. She’s a miracle. Now I see that adorable angel sleeping with such grace She’s our precious gift that was sent from above She’s made my living worthwhile with her beautiful face She’ll always remind me of Heaven’s pure Love She’ll be my light in the dark I can’t wait to take her for a walk.
