I write sitting down, hoping the words will fall out.
But nothing still really compares to you, I am having difficulty answering the question of why
I mean your looks, I can describe every inch of your face
But what made that nose so different than the rest
And your taste, oh your taste
It felt like morning, noon and night when I dove in
But what made you so special, was it your eyes that told all?
Was it the way you put your hands around your hair and turned to the table
I finally went there, girl, I finally cared enough to open the door and touch where we laid our tracks
I found the key and once it was open, it closed, like the swinging door that held our hearts
And now… I am not sure of what to make of this new picture
I thought that days of remembering would bring me closer to you
Except I feel farther away from you than ever

I could recite every line that was ever spoken between us two, but what would that make of us?
I decided to put my lips to the door, you know, the one you pushed me up against
Then you dove in for the win and you won it so well
I didn’t even have to give you a medal, you were already beaming
I find myself wanting more of you even after this minor setback
And to be honest with you, I thought I needed you in the beginning
Until you lit a match and took me and threw me, over and under, like a rollercoaster I swayed and swooped
Your scent brought me to my knees and I believed that only God could save me
Until you did

I’m not trying to blame you or even tell you that what you did with me was wrong
All I can say is that I love you even after all of this
I don’t know why
I don’t know how it happened
All I can say is that
I care

Your smiling face, I can just picture it in my mind
I can feel your sunbeam on my windowsill
But more than anything let me tell you this
I care
Hear that?
I care

I know what it feels like to love and care for someone when you dont think they deserve it. But sometime those are the times you need to care for them the most. Not physically but mentally, if that makes sense!?!
