Too soft to end it with the one that claims to love me
And too soft to keep from falling for another
Why does it have to be this way?
I always fall for the one I cannot have
He's in love with her
I'm his friend, I'm supportive, I'm miserable
So happy he's found her, the one
He doesn't even see me in her shadow
Yet I can't appriciate the one that I shine for
He's in love with me
I'm his 'the one' he says
He's cheating on me, I know, but still find no power to end it
It's too much emotion
I'm running out of strength
It hurts so much to hear my 'the one' rave about her
And I just plaster on my fake smile
He doesn't know my feelings
But we've already discussed the 'ifs'
And it doesn't look so good for me
All I can do I smile and stay by his side
Be the best friend I can
And try to love my other

Oh dang this is sad. Hard place to be in for sure.
Those love triangles have a way of sucking the life out of a person. I hope it works out best for all concerned.

Such a sad write, and I know that feeling myself. Heartfelt feelings, and emotions. Sue x

I hope someday you can be happy, this life can be hell. This is a very good poem, hang in there.
