Array ( [sid] => 14206 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => By Way of My Apology [time] => 2003-03-13 08:00:00 [hometext] => This was my attend to recognize my faults in terms of relationships. It developed into a poem as a by product of the assumption that it should be sent - and was sent- by way of my apology... [bodytext] => By Way of My Apology

As I leave the valley of my youth
With the sharpened daggers
Of my tongue and pride
I plainly see the melody of ways
I have learned to kill and wound

If I would have come to you
With my hands open but not out
Or wrap you in my arms
And known that that was more than enough

If I could have heard your heart sing
When they played your favorite song
Or heard you plea
The times I said goodbye

If I would have known how lost I left you
When I left to find myself
Or dared to enjoy the peace
That my rest could give to you

If I could have felt how much it hurt you
To see my body broken
Then I should have wept
At the drop of those single tears from you

And If I would have known the losses
From all the battles I refused to lose
Then I would have lived
What has taken years to see

And come to different terms
By way of my apology…
