When the ponderings are plentiful
And the light is ne’er to be seen.

Such beauty to behold cannot be held,
Lest its beauty waste away.
No; it must be witnessed, received,
Protected from the sharpest of pens,
The brightest of torches.
Saved from understanding—
Saved from dissection.

No; it must be witnessed
In its darkest purity:
To be felt, to be heard—
To be witnessed.

Shed your light, your navigation,
Such fleeting luminosity
Of the Soul can but diminish
To be witnessed no longer.

No; you must ponder
In the blackest of night.
To understand nothing,
To create nothing,
And witness everything.

Stunning...

you've captured something here!
something that gave me a strong
emotional response. Best though
that I don't dissect it... lol. As a nod
to you and this poem I'll just ponder
and say wow. great writing...truly , doug

Wow. There is a depth in this that even depth is envious of. The movement of
solitude through your words and resting just on that last line is magnificent!
This says to me to spend less time thinking and more time just enjoying
the general splendour. For in the blink of an eye ... it's gone.

Gorgeous write! Too perfect for my humble words. :)

A very well written ponderous piece (if i said that correctly) with a somber bit of loneliness held within its words

i really enjoyed reading this! wish you would post more for old times sake!
i honestly was moved by your work though. and i totally relate on many levels for so many reasons. some theoretical. you just have to be there to witness things sometimes. to truely appreciate what is there or not there. sometimes what isn't there means so much more. you got my mind working. perhaps i'll have more poetry posted soon...thanks!

Thus I will ponder, and not too deeply, yet deeper than the unknown. And I will skip from subject to subject letting my thoughts wander where they will and so as you say....witness everything.
Wonderful piece.

good job, bro. but you seem to ponder how you ponder more than the subject of your ponderings which can still lead to nowhere.
