Tell me what do you see,
I see a broken child staring back at me,
No longer allowed to laugh or play,
She’s a shackled child,
Chained to her pain,
She cant run or have fun,
Its no longer an option,
All day long,
She just trudges along,
Her invisible chains weighing her down,
No one can see them,
Yet everyone can,
her soul is so tired,
her will is so meek,
she only wishes to live through the week.
She wishes for a friend to call,
She longs for a loving touch,
She wishes that she had a friend,
Someone who really cared,
Whether she lives or whether she dies,
Can’t anyone read her eyes?
Why am I the only one to see,
These hidden secrets inside of her?
As I look closer,
Deeper inside,
I realize that the reflection,
Is only mine.
