Wandering rose

Contributed by shelby on Tuesday, 15th April 2008 @ 02:34:28 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Rain is falling on the blossoms
There are no stars out tonight.
They are hiding behind a blanket of clouds
Another wet dark rainy night.

Memories come round the corner
on the tail of a gusty coastal wind
searching for the answers dying
beside the night a restful friend.

Then there is the roads long and unending.
Black ribbons lacing states and places
wanderlust takes over gets beneath your skin
roam on little gypsy rose, day is long night is coming again.

We pave our way in this old life.
Stand a little taller when we could have fallen
Gathering thought and memory along each path
Keep on going, no looking back.

One last dance, one last kiss.
Thoughts scratched in sands
of times we have missed.
Calico winds and daydreams fading.

Then there is the roads long and unending.
Black ribbons lacing states and places.
Wanderlust takes over, gets beneath your skin
roam on little gypsy rose, day is long night is coming
again.

Hey Shels...I love the initial setting... rainy nights are just wonderful...(just as long as I am home with my family) then come the memories... mmmm. Overall, a beautiful write.. Best of luck with the song....
Hugs, Jenn
