The First/Day One

Now alone, I moved to you and into your space.
Our auras defused, to allow the intrusion to each other’s comfort zones.
And by doing so, they, now becoming willing accomplices.
My trembling hands unconsciously encircled your waist,
and I was excitedly smitten by your very presence.

My heart surged and seemed to shudder violently,
as though trying to escape the sanctuary of my chest.
Its pounding, like a thunder, heard loudly within my ears.
And as I gently pulled your body into mine,
my fear was that you too could hear its thunder.

I bowed my head and desperately sought your lips.
It was the touch, which truly distorted my thought of mind.
This swept me outside the confines of our earthly attrition.
And I could not help but yield to the tenderness,
as my life suddenly narrowed to that precise moment.

Although laced with an ambiguity of my intent,
I could not bring myself to stop, nor did I want to.
The urgency had now gone beyond the realm of my human influence.
And disregarding the imminent aftereffects to the action,
I continued void of any further thought.

At the pause I drank of you solely with my eyes,
as the taste of your lips lingered upon mine.
I was spellbound at the encounter, yet the kiss was unfinished.
Left only, to be sought after again.
And I knew that this would be.

Of all the first kisses, it is this that was the first.
For it held in its midst, the introduction of my soul to yours.
And for all the time in time, it was at that very instant,
that one intimate moment, that had signaled the onset to my surrender.
And you too, unknowingly, had begun your surrender to me, on day one.

Nicely done Ziggy

You definitely captured the moment of that first kiss ... my heart racing as I read each line. Thank you for sharing this.
