~Long Ago & Far Away~

Contributed by Jenni_K on Wednesday, 9th April 2008 @ 10:55:32 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

Seems like a million years have passed,
We were young, we were free.
We sat on a cliff on the island,
And carved our names on a tree.
I remember your touch,
I remember your kiss..
Being with you that way,
Always brought so much bliss..

We never loved each other,
This we both knew to be true ,
Yet we had so much fun together,
Just me and you.
We'd fish together all day long,
We'd swim in the ocean blue.
You saved me once when a dive went wrong,
I'll always be grateful to you.

So long ago and far away,
Seems like a million years have passed,
I know you'll be back on the island some day,
This brings back memories I thought would never last.
All those memories come rushing thru me...
Maybe we could relive it one more time
Even though we are both no longer free,
It would be fun to make one last island lime.*

* Lime is a local word for "hang out/party/get together"

" We never loved each other, This we both knew to be true " this is a breathless line
dip'ed in such innosence so sweet to the taste upon the tong of honesty. and the poem itself, a colaberation between the
heart and the mind, a masterpeice if ever there was . . .

Thank you also Jenni, for your read and
your comment, always nice to hear from
you . . .

Ben

Very nice write. I believe that this will take all readers back to their early days of young love. Just remembering the fun youthful times with whomever was the apple of your eye at that precious moment. Nicely done...
