she casts herself across my night,
and burns me with her passionate self
to shake the trinkets off the shelf.

like a mother, she takes me to her breast
where I find sustenance and rest;
some healing of my awful past
and happiness that’s meant to last.

too many times I’ve called her bluff
when she tells me she’s had enough,
and left her broken at my feet
to watch me as I find the street.

she harangues me in long tirades
and eclipses me in various shades;
cries and laughs and often broods
but I love her, and her many moods.

As long as you love her, and she loves you, no mountain is too high. Nice write.

Are you seriously kidding me? So the big tough guy, has a soft heart. Damn, spikerino, this one is
too beautiful. You astound me sometimes, my friend. Must be those bedfellows you've be harbouring!
*winks*

The opening of this just staggered me. Damn. That first line is to DIE for. I mean, literally!! And
then the stanza and the following one .... oh my! OH, to be the damsel this poem is written about.
What secrets lie waiting for the heart to unlock! I'm such a sucker, (as you know) for a good romantic
dishing and just a tinge of swooning. But lets not my heart get carried away ... lol

Your ending couldn't be more after a heart made of hopeless romance. What a find on such a dismal
night for me! Thank you for this. It was like opening a book of Keats. Truly ~

~Breezy

Nice writing Spike. If it's love from both sides, it always wins. Beautiful write.
