Array ( [sid] => 141254 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Short-Term Immortality [time] => 2008-03-29 19:35:34 [hometext] => I want to be a struggling artist the rest of my life, living in fantastic poverty by choice. [bodytext] => I’m on a runaway freight train going everywhere at once
And if it doesn’t stop, I’ll be glad I got on when I did.
The journey will be the death of me,
But quality over quantity,
So pack your bags and let’s go.

Who knew survival could be so fun?
The vagabonds knew where it was at all along,
Smoking crack out of lightbulbs is the new black.

Gotta cruise down those streets and
Blow off stop signs.
Maybe end up on the hood of a car,
But every bruise and disgusting scab was worth it.

Damn right,
Wake up already,
It’s five o’clock somewhere,
But we’d be drinkin anyway.

What a camaraderie formed by raspy sing-along songs
With no bouncing ball, just a sloppy chorus
Filled with the rude boys and
Girls who still know how to have a good time.

Trading sweat with the crusties and
Never stopping except for a set change.
I’ve finally found something to live for
In these never-ending songs.
We’re not stopping till our legs give out
From exhaustion and vertigo.

Only two hours, but we can’t go any more
And our sweaty bodies all hit the floor. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 293 [topic] => 19 [informant] => a7x36 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => InspirationalPoems )
