Found myself drowning in the warmth of the sun
It's golden hue reflecting on my face
I stood there for a while
As if cemented to the ground
It had been awhile since my barefeet felt that warmth
It penetrated my skin and made me tingle
I was mesmerized by the smell of spring
Creeping out from the newest of buds
Eneveloping my being
Giving me a sense of peace I hadn't felt for some time
Close by was the sound of rustling in the grass
It was coming from a tiny ball of white fur
Brown dead leaves clinging to the hair
And then she looked at me
This angelic face of my dog
The coming of spring had her leaping for joy
Her ears perked up at the sounds
I was caught up in the moment when she licked my foot
A sign she was ready to come inside
Reluctant to leave the surroundings I turned around
Clutching the door I saw her reflection in the glass
She had resumed her pouncing in the grass
Chasing after some sort of insect
Determined to catch it
She kept looking back at me
Waiting to see if I'd join
Her denial to come inside persisted
So I let her stay her
To baske in the warmth
To frolic in the grass
To breathe in the beauty of spring...
