Watching the stars dull and the sky turn grey
A shower of blood falls from the weeping Goddess's eyes
As she witnesses the horror she's created
Watching her children kill their brothers and sisters
And wondering what to do
I'm hiding under the porch
Seeing where the greed of mankind is leading
Waiting for the end of time
Crying as I watch those around me fall down dead
The showers of blood do not cease
And the body count just keeps rising
I'm just a little girl
Lost in this bloody and cruel world
Waiting for the Goddess to take me into her arms
And tell me it's all okay
I huddle closer to my teddybear as the bombs go off
The sounds burning my ears, the sight of smoke and earth rising around in the distance
They're nothing new
I'm only six years old, I don't know what I did wrong
As a stranger's face appears in front of me
He's knelt in the mud, holding a large gun
I cry out to the Mother of our kind
I beg her to forgive all the people in the world
I tell her I'm scared for us all
As I stare at the man in front of me, his weapon drawn
I close my eyes tightly, tears flooding around and then...
I hear the Goddess singing, lulling me to the light that surrounds me
She smiles softly and pats my head
Whispering praise and love
I'm only six years old, I don't know why we're fighting
And I don't know why I had to die [comments] => 3 [counter] => 227 [topic] => 57 [informant] => desolantdreamer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => war )
